Unique Locations

While we are always happy to be near a kettle while recording in studio, over the years we have recorded in every county in Ireland but here are just some of the more unusual locations we have made recordings.

Whilst recording A Heritage Tour we visited Achill Island with John McHugh, and decided to record the piece below in the Atlantic Ocean, we just had to be careful not to drop the equipment!

When we were recording both series for Spike The Hedgehog we felt that as our actors were playing animals in the wild, outdoor recordings would be most appropriate.  As a result, not all of the animal sounds you hear were added in post production, some occurred naturally!

Although our most recent production “I am Falcon” took us into studio, it was the research that really got us in the mood with a visit to Eagles Flying in Ballymote.  The aeriel display is not to be missed and we got some lovely shots!  And yes we were waving our arms whilst recording but no photos of that exist!

It was at Moore Hall in County Mayo that we learned so much about the history of this splendid, now ruined house with Art O’ Súilleabháin during the making of our second series for A Heritage Tour.
